The
Hunter Valley,
two hours north of
Sydney,
is the oldest commercial
wine-producing area in
Australia and a commercial
coal mining area.
Newcastle is situated
at the mouth of the Hunter
River; Lake Macquarie
at the southern end is
the biggest city. Other

Valley are
Maitland,
Morpeth, Cessnock, Kurri

Singleton, Scone
and
