The best way to see the Hunter Valley is by car. Depending on how much, or which parts of the Hunter you’re visiting, you can also combine bicycle riding, shuttle busses, helicopter flights, hot air ballooning or horse and carriage rides to get you from A to B.
Many of the local
tour providers include transport options as part of their tour packages with limousines, mini vans, shuttle buses or private cars all available. Local taxis and bus services are available and Cessnock Airport offers a range of helicopter joy flights. There are also a number of car rental outlets if you want to organise care hire independently.
Additional shuttle buses and special event transport services are available when special events or big concerts are on in the area.
The nearest major train station is
Maitland and there are daily services south-bound to
Newcastle and north-bound to
Scone. The region’s main airport is located at Williamtown with car and bus transfers available to the Hunter Valley.
