Hunter Valley Gardens

Hunter Valley hotels

Hunter Valley Gardens is one of the most recognised tourist destinations in wine country. Spanning more than 60 acres the gardens are perfectly manicured and full of colour and textures. You can explore the gardens on foot getting up close and personal with over eight kilometres of walking paths, 6000 trees, 1 million ground covers and 600000 shrubs.

The Rose Garden features more than 8000 varieties, there is a 10 metre feature waterfall and a great children’s garden complete with fairytale characters. Other themed gardens included the Sunken Garden, Formal Garden, Italian Grotto, Border Garden, Indian Mosaic Garden, Lakes Walk, Chinese Garden and the Oriental Garden. There are also a range of special seasonal features, fountains and sculptures.

The Hunter Valley Gardens complex also has on-site accommodation, restaurants and cafes, village shops, mini and aqua golf, a wedding chapel and special event/conferencing facilities. Special events are held right throughout the year so check the local ‘What’s On’ guide to see what’s happening.

Hunter Valley Gardens is a great spot for a picnic lunch and is good if you’re travelling with kids. It’s also very popular with big bus and tour groups and, as a result, is always buzzing with tourists.
